TuneTastic Tuesday

I just love this picture and the song!

Hi Everyone!

It's been a couple of days since my last post. Before I get into the title of this post let me catch you up on what's been going on in my life. Things are a little hectic right now, but in a good way. Classes are in full effect, so I am studying and reading a lot. David and I spent the weekend packing up every last thing in our rental home. We also went to the new house and cleaned so it will be ready for our move in. When I was cleaning I realized just how big my new house is. I knew it was big but when you start cleaning you really get to see every inch of your house.  Thankfully I have a wonderful mother in law who came up to help me. I am truly blessed to have her in my life. So, today the hubby and I are FINALLY closing on our new house. I say finally because the date has been pushed back a couple of times. I am super excited but a little sad. The reason being is David left yesterday for California. He went there for a business trip and won't be home till Friday. So he will not be here to sign his life away on all those documents. Lucky for me I get to do that and I can't wait.*enter sarcasm* We have movers coming tomorrow and I am really excited about this part. I have moved way too many times in my life and each time I have moved I've had to do it myself. With help of course but I definitely had to do my part in moving some heave boxes. Yes, I am whining; cue the violins!  Well, tomorrow two  men and a truck will be there to move all of our stuff and this just makes me happy, happy, happy(in my best Phil from Duck Dynasty voice). I'm kind of glad David just happens to be out of town because that is the only way he agreed to hiring the movers. Definitely worked in my favor. :) I will post pictures once the house is officially ours! I can't wait!

On to the music and title of this post. Being that I love music so much I thought I would share with you some of the tunes I am currently loving. I love songs that make me want to dance, workout, or even sing to. Even though I lack in the singing talent department I will still sing my heart out when driving in my car. I also like listening to classical music while doing my homework and studying. I don't like the room to be silent so its a good background noise that won't distract me. So here are the tunes I am currently loving:

This is a great workout song

Yep, I have Bieber fever!

LOVE The Black Keys

I'm really not a fan of TS, but I really
like this song.

Gotta love Flo Rida

I hope you enjoyed some of  the tunes I shared with you Leave a comment below and let me know what you are currently listening to!!

Champions! Roll Tide!!

If you have read my about me section you know I am a huge Alabama Football fan. Last night my boys brought home the National Title. I could not  be happier. That is number 15 for the Crimson Tide. We have won two years in a row; that is huge(we also won in 2009)!! I can't tell you how proud I am to call The University of Alabama my alma mater.

Here are a few pictures from the Big Win!!

That's our couch in the middle, Mr. Nick Saban!!

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!

Now that I have gotten the celebration out of the way lets move on to today's workout. On my lunch break I went for a short run, got in 2.48 miles. After that I had a yummy strawberry salad. I am an instagram junkie so of course I uploaded a pic! Check it out and follow me: danielle_gardner12 :)
Oh and I got super excited because my Tone It Up trainers KarenaKatrina were the first ones to like my picture! Yes, I get excited over small things.

After work I have to head home and attend a live chat for one of the classes I am taking this semester. I am working on my masters. After that I plan on doing the new workout posted by Tone It up.

It's not too late to sign up for the Love Your Body Challenge. Get on it!

~Friday Fun Facts~

Happy Friday!

The weekend is only a few hours away and I can't wait! Do you guys have anything fun planned for the weekend? My husband and I are getting ready to close on a house we bought. So I will spend the weekend boxing up the rest of the stuff in our old house and cleaning. I absolutely love our new house and can't wait to move in. Maybe I will do a post about the new house with some pictures and stuff. What do you guys think? Leave a comment below and let me know(hint, I'll probably write one any way). :)

Being that this blog is new and some of you don't know that much about me I thought I would do a Fun Facts post about me. Just a little bit of random information about me so you can get to know me a little better.

1. I share a birthday with my dad. I was born on my dad's 23rd birthday and I am pretty sure I was the best present he ever received!

2. When I was 6  a cocker spaniel bit me on the face. I had to have 37 stitches on the right side of my face. I was lucky because the dog didn't get my eye or lip, just my cheek. I have a small scar on the right side of my face, but the good thing is everyone just thinks I have one dimple! :)

3. I LOVE sushi and Chick-fil-A!! I don't eat fast food but when I do its Chick-fil-A! I just can't say no to that place, their chicken is delicious. Oh and those waffle fries, don't get me started!
 Everything in moderation.

4. I have a love for music. I can't say that I listen to just one genre of music. I like a little bit of everything. I contribute my love of music to my dad. When I was growing up I was a daddy's girl for sure! When we would go places we were always listening to the radio and singing! It was the best car karaoke ever! We would play this game where I would always guess who was singing the song.  So as time went on I became more familiar with the artist and their music. Because of this game I grew  to love bands like:
Oh and I love the game Song Pop, I have to toot my own horn and say that I am pretty good at it! I also love how you can hear a song and it can take you back to a particular place in time.

5. I am a reality show junkie(don't judge). I know its bad that I watch some of the trash that is on tv but I can't help it. It sucks me right in! My husband is always on my case about the shows I watch. I do have to say I am trying to watch less reality tv but some of it is like a train wreck and I can't look away. Maybe that should be a goal of mine, to cut back on reality tv. Yeah, we'll see how that one goes.

That wraps up 5 fun facts about me. I hope you enjoyed them. Comment below and tell me a fun fact about yourself.

Happy Friday and have a Fabulous weekend!!
xoxo

Try It Thursday

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful Thursday! Only one more day left in the work week woot, woot! Before I get in to the new workout class I tried today I want to talk about yesterday's workout.

Yesterday morning it was rainy and messy where I live. Definitely one of those stay in bed kind of days. All day yesterday I just felt exhausted and couldn't really get awake.

This pretty much sums up how I felt

I decided to skip working out at lunch because I was just too tired. I told myself I will just do it when I get off work. Well I got off work and I just did not want to workout. I just didn't have it in me and dreaded getting on the treadmill  It was still raining outside so I couldn't do my run outside which bummed me out. After complaining to myself for a few minutes I thought it was time to suck it up and head to the gym. So I did just that. I did a 10min warm up on the stationary bike and then headed over to the dreadmill.  Let me tell you, it was U-G-L-Y!! I got in about 3.1 miles, but they were very slow miles. I was just dragging and didn't have the energy to really push it. A complete turn around from how I felt the day before. Not to mention my heartburn was outrageous and I felt like every time I exhaled fire was going to come out of my mouth. Even though I did not want to workout and it wasn't pretty, I still did it.  There are days you won't feel like working out and it will seem like a chore, but don't let those feelings take over. Just go out there and do it. Its not always going to be your greatest workout, but at least you got your butt out there and sweated!

You will NEVER regret a workout!

Now on to something a little more fun! Today is Try it Thursday, if you are following the Tone It Up January calendar(you can find that here). I have a gym where I work so I can go on my lunch break, its just right across the street.  At the beginning of the month they added some new classes. I was really excited about this because I like to try new things. Today I tried a class called Fit Ball. It was a really good workout and the time flew by! I just love when that happens. I can't stand when I do a workout and I can't stop clock watching. Ok back to fit ball, the whole workout involved an exercise ball. When I got to the class the instructor told us to grab a ball, mat and a couple sets of weights. We used the ball to do squats, planks, push- ups, bicep curls, lunges and many more. The instructor described it as a full body workout that will also engage your core. It did exactly what she said and afterwards I was a sweaty mess. Don't worry I showered before going back to work! :) Overall I really enjoyed the class and will definitely go back.  Below is a picture of my gym. I have to say I am so grateful that the company I work has provided this gym for all employees!

So what new classes have you tried lately or want to try? Leave a comment below and let me know!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone!! Ok, I know I am a several days late, but since this blog wasn't live until now I still have to wish you a happy new year. I hope your new year is going well so far and you are owning 2013! Day 1 of the new year wasn't so great for me. Woke up with the crud and felt like poo. I pretty much laid in bed all day(not by choice). This is not what I had in mind for starting off my new year. I wanted to workout and get some meals prepared for the next 3 days of work. I decided to listen to my body and rest, so that I wouldn't make matters worse. The good thing about laying around is I could stalk my twitter feed for the new Tone It Up Love Your Body Challenge(more on that in a bit).

On January 2nd I had to return to work after being off since December 21st. After being off work for that long it was a little rough returning to work. I got to work and my cold kept getting worse. I am not one to sit around and get everyone sick so I decided it was time to go to the doctor and get rid of this mess. It was messing up my plans to start 2013 off with a bang. Went to the doctor and was told I have an upper respiratory infection. Received two shots in the booty and a z-pack. Returned to work only because I wasn't contagious and seemed to feel a bit better as the day continued. By the time I got home I was feeling better and told myself it was time to workout. I was not going to miss another day. I did take it easy but did some Tone It Up workouts. Definitely had a nice little sweat going on.

So what or who is Tone It Up? To keep it short head on over to their website to find out. Now I can't just let you click on the link without singing my praises first. Along the way of providing free fitness these ladies have created a supporting community of women helping each other achieve their goals. Some of the ladies that I have gotten to know through Tone It Up I consider great friends. I may have never met some of them in person, but I feel like I have know them for ages! So why not encourage someone along the way?
Its a WIN, WIN!!
