Try It Thursday

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful Thursday! Only one more day left in the work week woot, woot! Before I get in to the new workout class I tried today I want to talk about yesterday's workout.

Yesterday morning it was rainy and messy where I live. Definitely one of those stay in bed kind of days. All day yesterday I just felt exhausted and couldn't really get awake.

This pretty much sums up how I felt

I decided to skip working out at lunch because I was just too tired. I told myself I will just do it when I get off work. Well I got off work and I just did not want to workout. I just didn't have it in me and dreaded getting on the treadmill  It was still raining outside so I couldn't do my run outside which bummed me out. After complaining to myself for a few minutes I thought it was time to suck it up and head to the gym. So I did just that. I did a 10min warm up on the stationary bike and then headed over to the dreadmill.  Let me tell you, it was U-G-L-Y!! I got in about 3.1 miles, but they were very slow miles. I was just dragging and didn't have the energy to really push it. A complete turn around from how I felt the day before. Not to mention my heartburn was outrageous and I felt like every time I exhaled fire was going to come out of my mouth. Even though I did not want to workout and it wasn't pretty, I still did it.  There are days you won't feel like working out and it will seem like a chore, but don't let those feelings take over. Just go out there and do it. Its not always going to be your greatest workout, but at least you got your butt out there and sweated!

You will NEVER regret a workout!

Now on to something a little more fun! Today is Try it Thursday, if you are following the Tone It Up January calendar(you can find that here). I have a gym where I work so I can go on my lunch break, its just right across the street.  At the beginning of the month they added some new classes. I was really excited about this because I like to try new things. Today I tried a class called Fit Ball. It was a really good workout and the time flew by! I just love when that happens. I can't stand when I do a workout and I can't stop clock watching. Ok back to fit ball, the whole workout involved an exercise ball. When I got to the class the instructor told us to grab a ball, mat and a couple sets of weights. We used the ball to do squats, planks, push- ups, bicep curls, lunges and many more. The instructor described it as a full body workout that will also engage your core. It did exactly what she said and afterwards I was a sweaty mess. Don't worry I showered before going back to work! :) Overall I really enjoyed the class and will definitely go back.  Below is a picture of my gym. I have to say I am so grateful that the company I work has provided this gym for all employees!

So what new classes have you tried lately or want to try? Leave a comment below and let me know!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone!! Ok, I know I am a several days late, but since this blog wasn't live until now I still have to wish you a happy new year. I hope your new year is going well so far and you are owning 2013! Day 1 of the new year wasn't so great for me. Woke up with the crud and felt like poo. I pretty much laid in bed all day(not by choice). This is not what I had in mind for starting off my new year. I wanted to workout and get some meals prepared for the next 3 days of work. I decided to listen to my body and rest, so that I wouldn't make matters worse. The good thing about laying around is I could stalk my twitter feed for the new Tone It Up Love Your Body Challenge(more on that in a bit).

On January 2nd I had to return to work after being off since December 21st. After being off work for that long it was a little rough returning to work. I got to work and my cold kept getting worse. I am not one to sit around and get everyone sick so I decided it was time to go to the doctor and get rid of this mess. It was messing up my plans to start 2013 off with a bang. Went to the doctor and was told I have an upper respiratory infection. Received two shots in the booty and a z-pack. Returned to work only because I wasn't contagious and seemed to feel a bit better as the day continued. By the time I got home I was feeling better and told myself it was time to workout. I was not going to miss another day. I did take it easy but did some Tone It Up workouts. Definitely had a nice little sweat going on.

So what or who is Tone It Up? To keep it short head on over to their website to find out. Now I can't just let you click on the link without singing my praises first.
