Thursday Thoughts

Hello there my good looking blog readers! How is your Thursday going? I hope its going well and if it isn't just think, only one day let in the work week. That should cheer you up!

So  yesterday was Roxy's first full day at home wearing her cone and staying in the crate while I went to work. My boss have been very supportive and worked with me during this time. I have mostly been working from home but it was time I actually went into the office. Roxy did very well and didn't fight me too much on wearing the cone. It may have been the treats I bribed her with. Works like a charm! When I came home she was still wearing the cone; I was so proud of her! When I opened the crate she could not wait to get out and was ready for the cone to come off.  Her staples are looking really good and almost all of the bruising is gone! Here are some recent pictures of her:

If looks could kill. This was the first time
wearing the cone!
Sleeping while I workout. Lazy bum :)

Isn't she purty!

Also thank you all for the get well wishes for Roxy! She appreciates them so much!!

TuneTastic Tuesday

Good Morning! I hope you are having a great Tuesday Morning!

It's that time again where I share my favorite tunes with you. So get your playlist ready to add some new tunes to it. Even though you may have some or most of these already this is what I am feeling this week.

Adele can do no wrong! Can't wait
for some new music from her.

Brit, Brit is my home-girl!

Lumineers - Ho Hey

This one really gets me pumped when I am working out.
Very encouraging and motivating!

Love Calvin Harris

No surprise here. I just love her!

Thrift Shop - Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. I just heard
this last week & can't stop listening to it. Very catchy.

Those are the tunes that I am loving at this moment. What are some of the tunes you are listening to?

Quick update on Roxy this morning. Went home at lunch yesterday and she pulled her bandage off. The good news is she didn't damage her staples. The doctor said that its best the bandage is off so it can get some air. Here is what her leg looks like without the bandage:

Seeing those staples just broke my heart into pieces. This morning I tried putting one of those cones on her while she was in her crate. Oh goodness that was not pretty. She just wasn't having it. We went back and forth for about 20 minutes. I finally gave up because I needed to get to work. So this is where Roxy is spending her day:

Yep that is my spoiled dog laying under my desk at work. Thankfully I work for a laid back company and they don't mind. So Roxy will be chilling with me today. Guess she got what she wanted, no cone and crate free!!

Update on Roxy

 Hello all!

Sorry its been a while since my last post. It seems like life has been crazy the past couple of weeks. We moved into our new house and all was going well until last Monday my furbaby Roxy got hurt. She went outside to play and when she came back in she wouldn't put her hind right leg down. It seemed pretty serious because of the way she was walking and having trouble getting up. My husband and I agreed we needed to take her to the vet the next morning. On Tuesday before work we dropped Roxy off at the vet to get an x-ray and find out what was going on. Around noon I called the vet to get an update and there was no good news. She tore her ACL and surgery was highly recommended. If we didn't do the surgery then she would more than likely tare her other ACL from the pressure being put on it. We were referred to an orthopedic surgeon about 20 mins from where we live. The good thing is we had heard nothing but great things about him and he is the best in the Tennessee Valley. So Thursday morning we went to the surgeon and after he inspected her it was in fact a torn ACL and surgery was needed. David and I had already discussed that we will do the surgery if needed. We decided to leave her over night at the vet because he was going to work her in if he could. This was really hard for me to do. Roxy has never stayed overnight at the vet and I didn't want her to think I had abandoned her. The staff there was very comforting and I knew they would take good care of her so it eased my mind a little.

Friday I was able to pick her up after getting word the surgery went great. I was so happy to see her and she was pretty happy to see me as well. She looked so pitiful and it broke my heart to see her with a big bruise on her leg and hobbling around.

On the way home from surgery

Her bruise and bandage :(

Now that she is home the next 2 weeks are crucial for her not to be up running around and chasing after things. When she goes outside she has to be on a leash so if she see's something she won't run after it. She has to be in a crate when we leave her by herself. Just a side not we don't crate our dogs when we leave the house we just block off the upstairs so they are confined to the downstairs. This works best for our dogs and they don't tare up anything while we are gone. Today is the first day Roxy is home by herself. I am going to go home at lunch to check on her and make sure she hasn't been licking her bandage. I'm hoping the pain medicine has knocked her out and she will just sleep most of the time. That's all she did this weekend. The past few night have been a little rough. Roxy has been sleeping with us and bless her heart she just can't stay comfortable. She has been waking me up at 3 am every morning and then  every hour on the hour after that. I know most people are sensitive when you compare a dog to a child. But I really feel they are almost the same with a few exceptions. For example it breaks my heart to see Roxy like this and when she whimpers I wish I knew what it was for. Just like if I had a child that was sick I would just wish they could tell me what was wrong so I could fix it. I just want to stay home and watch over her to make sure she is ok and let her know I'm there to take care of her. I love my dog dearly; she is like my child.
Here are a few pictures I captured of her this weekend just lying around.

Please keep her in your thoughts as she recovers from her surgery. Thank you and I appreciate it!

xoxo

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

Not sure why but I love that saying. Today my company hosted a lunch and learn by SportsMed. The topic was, "Back Pain in The Workplace". I thought it was worth attending being that I have scoliosis really bad. Any new information on how to relieve back pain is always a plus. At the lunch and learn they had some door prizes you could register to win. I went to the lunch and learn with my husband(we work for the same company). When we registered for the door prizes I told him i was going to win the basket. I said I don't know what's in it, but I am going to win. After the lunch and learn was over they did the drawing for the door prizes. The 1st prize was an umbrella which I did not win. The 2nd was a gift card to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, told the hubby I wouldn't mind winning that prize, but they did not call my name. Last was the gift basket. The lady shuffled the pieces of paper in the bowl and took out a slip and then called MY NAME!! My husband said you are kidding me! I was super excited and told him I knew I was going to win. As soon as I got back to my desk I got could not wait to find out what was all in the basket. Being that I never win anything I thought I would show you guys what was in the basket.

This is what the basket looked like before I opened it.

This blanket is so soft! I let Roxy lay on it when I picket her up from
the vet. She approved!

I also received:
The brown pen holder box. The hubby is going to use this on his desk at home
Armband for an iPhone 5!Really excited about this because I am getting my iPhone very soon!
A teal notebook! I just love the color!
A Kenneth Turner Candle- Smells really good
All Natural Almond Crunch- Vegan, Wheat Free, No preservatives, Dairy free. Its delicious!!
I

The remaining stuff:
The silver thing on the left is a one of those things you put in the car to block the sun.
The thing on the right is what I believe is a picnic mat! Its really cute
And the basket! Its actually a good size cute basket!!

I was very excited to win this prize(maybe even a little to excited) and it made my day!

 Please Pray for My Furbaby!

When I started writing this post I had not picked up my dog Roxy from the vet. Yesterday she went outside to play. When she came in she was limping and wouldn't put her right hind leg down. For some reason something told me that this was pretty serious. She just wasn't acting her normal self. I had David carry her upstairs and put her on the bed. She slept with us last night, like she does every night so we could keep an eye on her. This morning when my alarm went off and she wasn't in my face licking me, I knew she was in pain. She wouldn't even get off the bed to follow me around while I got ready. This broke my heart, because I don't like to see my furbabies in pain. David loaded her in the truck and we dropped her off at the vet on our way to work. I picked her up about 30 minutes ago. The vet confirmed she tore her ACL and surgery is highly recommended. We have an appointment to see an orthopedic surgeon on Thursday. Please say some prayers for my furbaby!!

Bieber Fever

Hi Everyone! Sorry I have been MIA for the past week. The hubby and I have been moving into our new house and things have been a little on the hectic side. I will tell you all about it in another post.

On Friday 01/18 I had the pleasure of taking my little sister to the Justin Bieber concert in Nashville. I am not going to lie that I was pretty excited about this concert, but I was not excited about all the screaming my ears would have to endure. My sister and I got to Nashville fairly early so we could check into the hotel and grab some dinner before the show. We ended up walking down to a Mexican restaurant called Chuy's.

Haven  Instagramming her food!

After dinner we went back to the hotel to freshen up. My sister wanted to make sure she looked her best for JB. Now I have been to serveral big concerts in Nashville, but never have I seen that place so packed. It was insane!! Before heading in it was a MUST that we stop and get some swag merchandise.

Standing in the long line

This is the sweatshirt my sister picked out. She
also got a shirt.

After stopping at the merchandise booth we headed inside and then waited for the show to start. Cody Simpson opened the show. I have never heard of him before, but he put on a pretty good show. And all the girls swooned over his dance moves. My sister even told me his dance moves are just "perfect"!! After Cody, Carly Rae Jepson took the stage. She did a great job and she was very bubbly! She even brought two fans on stage with her during "Call Me Maybe".

After Carly left the stage the wait began for Justin. It was probably the longest 30 minutes for every girl in there. So to pass the time my sister and I took a photo and played around on instagram.

Then out of nowhere this loud sound comes over the speakers and all the girls start screaming. It sounded like Justin was getting ready to come on stage. But no he was just fooling everyone. He put a countdown on the big screen.
The countdown started at 10 minutes but I snapped the picture here.

After the countdown got to 0:00 it was time for Justin.
All of the girls went CRAZY!!

Then he made his big entrance. I have to admit I was pretty impressed.

The next photos are just some that I took during the show. Enjoy :)

Overall I really enjoyed the concert and my little sister had a wonderful time. I have to give the Biebs props, he did a great job performing and really knows how to work the crowd.
